Jeep® Brand to present its new line of Jeep Vehicles in Geneva by Lisa Ziegler
The 77th International Motor Show in Geneva will become a venue for the Jeep brand to display its expanded range of models which started as three in 2005 and grown to seven in 2007. The current range of Jeep models is by far the most extensive offering of Jeep for its 65 year history of quality vehicles and top-of the-line auto parts like the popular Jeep bumper bracket. And no automaker in the world has the type and range of sport utility vehicles that Jeep offers.
It is also expected that by the end of 2007, the Jeep lineup will include Jeep Commander, Cherokee or Liberty in North America, Grand Cherokee, Wrangler, the all-new Compass, four-door Wrangler Unlimited and the Patriot. These seven Jeep vehicles are powered by both diesel and petrol engine options which customers may choose from.
According to Thomas Hausch, Executive Director-International Sales and Marketing, Chrysler Group, "The Jeep brand is on a product offensive and will continue to grow with new offerings that leverage Jeep's legendary 4x4 leadership. We have solidified the Jeep brand's foundation with the all-new Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited, while also stretching the brand to reach new customers in the growing compact SUV segment with Jeep Compass, the segment's most fuel-efficient vehicle, and Jeep Patriot."
All-New Jeep Patriot to Premiere in Geneva The Jeep Patriot signifies the expansion of the brand to other territory which is the compact SUV segment. The Patriot embodies the true Jeep traits--fun, free, utilitarian and remarkable Jeep 4x4 technology.
The Patriot will also be Jeep brand's new, competitive entry-level outside North America and will be offered in both left-hand and right-hand drive. The design of the new Jeep Patriot is a modern version of classic Jeep styling. It has the interior flexibility and packaging of an SUV with added performance, fuel economy, performance and price that is comparable to a C-segment car.
The Patriot that is going to be sold outside North America will feature a standard 2.4-litre petrol World Engine and an optional 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine. It will also be loaded with a number of safety features such as side-curtain airbags, anti-lock brakes (ABS), Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) and an Electronic Roll Mitigation.
The Patriot comes in two variants: the Patriot Sport and Patriot Limited which are going to be offered in Europe and other international markets scheduled on the second quarter of this year. All Patriot models that are to be sold outside North America will be equipped with the highly capable Freedom Drive I™ which is a full-time, active four-wheel drive system with lock mode.
In addition to the Jeep Patriot is the Jeep Compass which will further extend the Jeep brand in the compact SUV segment. The Compass is designed to attract new customers to the brand. The Patriot and Compass complements each other by offering distinct alternatives to customers who wants entry-level vehicles for the brand.
