BMW 116i Car Review

Overview

Shifting in the car is easy, making it a user-friendly, enjoyable car to drive. As with the interior of the vehicle, BMW has taken safety measures under the hood as well. Braking in the vehicle is safer with Anti Lock Brake System brakes and Cornering and Dynamic Brake Controls. There are also other safety features in the vehicle.

Like all other BMW vehicles, the branding logo can be found in a few spots throughout the car and you unlock the car by pressing the logo on the remote control.

Review

There are many mixed reviews about the new BMW 116i out there. Many people immediately count this vehicle out because it's not a 'real' BMW. They don't even take the time to evaluate what the car looks like, and how it handles on the road. In this article, I will discuss these topics and give you a better overall review on this vehicle.

The car is rear wheel drive and has other features that make it hug the road effectively when being driven-this is assisted by the Dynamic Stability and Traction controls. Not only is the engine positioned conveniently, but the suspension has been changed as well to better the car's ability to drive not only on straight roads, but around any type of corner as well. Shifting in the car is easy, making it a user-friendly, enjoyable car to drive. Enjoyable driving is not the only thing this car has to offer. As with the interior of the vehicle, BMW has taken safety measures under the hood as well. Braking in the vehicle is safer with Anti Lock Brake System brakes and Cornering and Dynamic Brake Controls. In addition to these features with the brakes, BMW also equipped the 116i with the Brake Force Display, which has a light that brightens the harder the brake is pushed. There are also other safety features in the vehicle.

BMW 116i Side View Driving

Once you are inside the vehicle you will be just as impressed as you were standing outside of it. Although the interior may not be as flashy as some other cars it still has a great style. There weren't any completely new features added, but more of upgrading current features to make them function even better. One of the features that were upgraded is the coat hanger handles. They are now spring loaded so that they glide back into position with ease. The cup holders were also upgraded to resize and fit any drink in them securely, so no more unnecessary spills in the car. Also, the handbrake remains sealed up in a leather jacket to keep it safe from all the unwanted junk that tends to make its way in there throughout the life of the car. These upgrades may be somewhat minor but it's all of these changes that add to a great experience with the BMW 116i. Also in the interior of the car is an LCD screen where the driver (or passenger(s)) can see pertinent information about the car such as the fuel and oil levels, temperature outside the vehicle, and average speed. In addition to the upgrades that were made, the BMW 116i has a five star safety rating, meaning it is also extremely safe for drivers and passengers. Two of the safety features included in the interior are the seatbelt tensioners, and the six airbags.

At first glance, it has a very unique design compared to the rest of the BMW vehicles. The BMW 116i sits low to the ground and has fat tires that give it a nice sporty look. If this car was judged by its appearance alone, it would easily get a five star rating. The design is very slick and flawless, making it a nice piece of eye candy from the outside, and the inside is no different. Like all other BMW vehicles, the branding logo can be found in a few spots throughout the car and you unlock the car by pressing the logo on the remote control. Another notable logo can be found on the trunk of the car. If you flip the BMW symbol up, it conveniently becomes a handle, and when it's down, it blends in as if it's just part of the car.

One of the most attractive things is the fact that you do not use a key to start the car. You simply insert the remote control into a slot located on the dash. Once it is in, you see an animation on how to push the clutch in and push the start button. The instructions are shown on a LCD screen that is located beside the speedometer. After you push the start button, the engine starts up and is ready to go. I think this is an excellent feature for modern times. This vehicle comes equipped with BMW's new engine that uses the new Double VANOS system. The engine provides more power than you would normally expect to get with a 1.6 liter engine without wasting any gas. One thing that has changed under the hood is the fact that the battery is no longer there-it has been moved to the trunk of the car to elongate the life of the battery and decrease the weight of the vehicle in the front.

In conclusion, the BMW 116i is well worth the $34,900 price tag. With a look and feel of a luxury car, a buyer will definitely not be disappointed after buying it. This is a more affordable vehicle that still bears the BMW name-what's not to like?
