Ducati ST4

We spotted this ST4 near the Ferracci setup at the Formula USA Pocono event. From the outside the ST4 looks like an ST2 with the exception of it being red. We've heard rumor that it'll be available in black, too. If you want to check one out in person, they should be at the dealers by mid-October.

Considering that the ST2 conquered its competition in the sport touring class, one has to wonder if the ST4 won't do the same in the sportbike class. The chassis of the ST2, powered by the motor from the 916, presents the possibility of the ST4 being the perfect mating of the best from two worlds. The ST4 just might prove to be a 916 without any of the harshness. Or the ST4 might be a sport touring bike that can out sport most sportbikes. Either way, if this thing lives up to its promise we might soon be seeing GSX-Rs and CBRRs with hard bags and clocks.

Here's the proof. That ain't no 900SS motor, it's the real thing that dreams are made of. Four valves, twin cams, EFI, and more Desmo valve train than you'd ever want to adjust at home.

The gauges on the ST4 are the same as those on the ST2 and they include a digital temp gauge and clock. The speedo and tach are easy to read and like other Ducatis, there's no annoying redline indication.
