Overview

The sound system can be operated via the central i-Drive style controller. Some of the safety features in the vehicle include multiple airbags Anti Lock Brakes with Brake Assist All Wheel Drive Electronic Stability Program and extra help with steering rolling and speed. As far as driver visibility goes this vehicle is great. The next three driving modes-automatic offroad and dynamic give you different features as well. The BOSE sound system is great as usual.

Details

From a distance the Audi Q7 may not really appear to be that large of a vehicle. The closer you get however it is actually quite big. As you hop in the interior you will see that the driver’s position is very commanding. There is a significant amount of space between the driver and the front passenger and the dashboard and console are angled a little bit towards the driver adding to the experience. The volume control is no longer found on the dashboard. You can find it in a much more convenient place the center console. This location may seem a bit odd but in the end it actually works out for the best.

The Audi Q7 FSI V8 gets a nice sporty steering wheel that comes as a standard. It may not be the sportiest but it is enough to aid you while doing some more aggressive driving. With the sports steering wheel you can also enjoy the paddle shifters. The paddle shifters allow the driver to change the gears manually without even having to shift the gear lever to the manual position which is nice for obvious reasons. There is also a 6 disc changing CD player that is hooked up to a BOSE sound system. The sound system can be operated via the central i-Drive style controller.
Though it produces great quality sound the best feature in my opinion is how easy it is to use. When using the central control unit you will have access to tons of vehicle settings. You can go through settings of features such as satellite navigation height adjustment and tire pressure monitoring. If you look next to the LCD screen built in the dash you will see quite a few buttons.

One of the buttons opens the glove box! Yes this is no longer a task that has to be done manually. With the press of a button the glove box is released and opens up without any problems. Though this may not be the best feature I have ever seen it is quite convenient and fun to use. The center console armrest is very comfortable and contains cubby holes to store smaller items. The downside to the armrest is that you don’t really have enough room to store anything big and it’s not the most effective to use. Some of the standard features you can expect in this vehicle are parking sensors fog lights electric leather front seats and tailgate central locking an auto-dimming interior mirror heated side mirrors that auto dim and fold cruise control Bluetooth capability for your cell phone light and rain sensors swiveling Xenon headlights and more. One of the most beneficial features that I have not mentioned is the DataDot technology which places small DataDots in parts of the vehicle in case the car is stolen or broken down for parts so that the car can be identified in the DataDot database. Some of the safety features in the vehicle include multiple airbags Anti Lock Brakes with Brake Assist All Wheel Drive Electronic Stability Program and extra help with steering rolling and speed. If you want to put a little extra money into your vehicle you can equip the car with a BOSE surround sound system heated front seats (not just driver) Adaptive cruise control an anti-theft alarm voice control advanced key metallic paint Alcantra roof lining sunroof 4-zone climate control 20 inch alloy wheels and a storage package.

It’s no secret that Audi has had tons of success in today’s market and it appears that they are not planning to slow down one bit. From the way the planned and executed the launch of the Audi Q7 it seemed that they were extremely confident they had produced another winner. During the launch they sent 15 Audi Q7s on a 4350 mile journey from Sydney all the way to Broome. With a trip of that length it shows me that they are certain it will get a lot of attention. If you are looking at purchasing this vehicle there are three different grades to choose from. The 3.6L 6 cylinder model which retails at $84900 the 3.0L turbo-Diesel which retails for $85800 and the 4.2L V8 which retails for $116800. For the purpose of this review I will talk primarily about the 4.2L V8.

As far as driver visibility goes this vehicle is great. With the elevated driving position mixed with the huge side mirrors you get an enormous amount of visibility. You also can use the reverse camera that is comes with all the Q7 models to assist you with parking. With these options available there are not really any blind spots that you have to worry about. I was actually quite impressed with this car because of the amount of vision it gives the driver at all times.

The next three driving modes-automatic offroad and dynamic give you different features as well. If you go with the off-road setting you will find the ground clearance increasing since it will raise up to the highest setting possible by electric movement. Having the off-road setting is nice though since it does perform well in an off-road atmosphere. No matter what the conditions the Q7 can take it unless of course you are looking at a steep decline. This is one situation you want to avoid unless you take the steps needed and raise the ground clearance to as high as it can get. This would require a move with the manual lift. Using automatic mode will give you the chance to change the height to a height of your choice. Dynamic mode will not provide you with a very smooth ride since it drops the height drastically but it will whip you around corners with extreme hugging ability.

All the way through the trip the Q7 models managed to arrive in Broome safely with only a few problems. There were two broken fog lights and a small amount of flat tires. The fog lights being broken was caused from rocks being flung up from the vehicle in front of them so that didn’t have anything to do with the quality of the car. The flat tires were due to some pretty rough terrain that they faced along the way and once again were not due to any manufacturer defect.

The leg room is more than accommodating for both front and rear passengers. Even larger people will find themselves quite comfy in this vehicle. The seats are extremely comfortable except the one in the rear middle. When you purchase an Audi Q7 you will have the option to get six or even seven seats. With seven seats you will of course have to pay more but I thought that it was a pretty cool option to have. Unfortunately the front seats are not heated but it’s not really a big deal for those who don’t use these options anyway. The BOSE sound system is great as usual.

You can’t really go wrong when you have an audio system brand like BOSE. The sound is very clear and the bass is sure to please anyone. At higher volumes you may experience some rattling but overall it’s a great setup to have.

This vehicle has adaptive air suspension that can be adjusted with four different modes to choose from. The modes for this are automatic off road dynamic and comfort. These modes work very well and you can notice a difference when changing through each setting. When you put the suspension in comfort mode you will barely notice any bumps in road. The quality of the ride definitely increases but the handling pays the price somewhat. Although it has its upsides the comfort mode setting causes the Audi Q7 to not react as well and an obvious amount of body roll is present.

You can look forward to a nice smooth drive when it comes down to shifting. The six-speed automatic gearbox shifts smoothly which is a bit of a surprise since some automatic gearboxes cannot boast the same thing. Usually the smoother shifting is left for manual gearboxes. You would be surprised that the car can handle the power of the 4.2 Liter V8 engine so well but it does. You can expect a fuel efficiency of about 13.6L/100KM which could be better but still is not bad for a V8. This will vary depending on the type of driving you are doing of course.

The tailgate of the Audi Q7 4.2 FSI V8 opens with assistance from a hydraulic lift system. Likewise the tailgate is also assisted by an electric motor when closing by pushing the trunk close button. When the tailgate is open you will see a switch that lowers the rear of the vehicle to its lowest setting to help make it easier for you get your stuff in and out. This is very helpful since the back end of the car sits pretty high up there.

Unlike most SUVs that burn fuel and are not cost effective the Audi is a good drive. However it still does use quite a bit of fuel for simple driving so it would not be the most practical of purchases. Though most people buying this vehicle would be using it for in-city driving it would be best used in off-roading which would require going with the 3.0L turbo-diesel. If you are looking for a car with optimal standard features you might be a little disappointed. There are not that many things in the car that stand out from the other cars in similar classes. However there are plenty of things you can buy to add on to the standard features and it can drive in plenty of different settings if you don’t mind paying a good deal for gas. Either way it’s definitely worth a test drive.

Mini Moto Bike Replicas

Know Your Mini Moto
By: Matt Tong

The Mini Moto is a small scale replica of the World Super Bikes used by the likes of Valentino Rossi and ex champion Carl Fogarty. The Mini Moto comes equipped with either a two stroke air or water cooled engine which are, depending on the model, capable of speeds of up to 60Mph.

In this article I will underline the finer points of the components that make these speeds possible.

The two Stroke Engine

The two stroke engine produces more hp per pound than the four stroke engine. The two stroke engine consists of three moving parts, the piston, the rod and the crank. The piston acts as valve that opens and closes the intake and exhaust ports that are located on the walls of the cylinder. Unlike the four stroke engine that fires only every other time of the pistons movement, the two stoke engine fires every time the piston reaches the top of its travel. This means that the time spent generating power is doubled in the two stroke engine than that of the four stroke engine, as there is no engine coasting during passive cycles. This is the main reason that the two stroke engine can rev more highly and produce more power (for its size) that the four stroke.

Fuel

The two stroke engine needs to be run on a mixture of petrol and two stroke oil. This is so that the engine is kept lubricated whilst in use.

99% of all starting problems are caused by fuel problems. These can stem from bad or old fuel and improperly mixed fuel (please see mixing chart). Do not use fuels that contain alcohol, as the can cause you bike to run

Chevrolet Trailblazer 2005: The Weekly Driver Review
By: James Raia

With the addition of the 5.3-liter, 325-horsepower V8 extended cab (EXT), eight Chevrolet Trailblazer models are on the road in 2005. And as the largest and most powerful Blazer available, the new EXT has plenty to offer.

Its comfortable and provides a confident drive. It offers vast cargo space, has an attractive two-tone interior, a well-designed console and boasts of plenty of impressive option packages.

But sometimes subtle qualities or subtle deficiencies are more impressive or problematic than a vehicles overt characteristics.

So it is with the new Blazer. While recently showing the car to several friends, one sat in the second row of seats. Surprisingly, his head easily hit the roof. My friend is 6-foot-3, and while thats tall, hes not a giant by any stretch.

Ive got a Scion and theres plenty of rear seat headroom, my friend commented.

The quick analysis made a good point. As the largest and most powerful Blazer available, shouldnt a 6-foot-3 person sit comfortably in the middle of the cars three rows?

Conversely, an SUV hardly seems like a vehicle for a remarkable sound system. But the Bose premium sound system available in the Blazers Sun, Sound and Entertainment Package is superior. The combination AM/FM stereo, six-disc changer, XM satellite radio and eight speakers are arguably the finest music package Ive experienced in any test car in the past two years.

Beyond a curious space limitation and a wondrous sound system options, the Blazer offers an odd mixture. Its a well-designed SUV with plenty of space for family and cargo. It has adequate steering and handling, and it offers a quiet ride considering its status as a large SUV with 17-inch tires.

Yet, the Blazer falls short in other key areas.

The vehicles braking system seems uneven – fine in some circumstances, soft in other scenarios with far-too-long response time. The Blazer maneuvers well in traffic and its turning radius is surprisingly tight and efficient. But again, for each vehicle strength theres a weakness. The Blazers fuel rating of 14 mpg (city) and 19 (hwy) is hardly impressive.

Standard features are adequate: power mirrors, heated daytime running lamps, remote keyless entry, tinted rear glass, 65/35 second and third-row folding seats and a rear window defogger, among other standard items.

Three options packages, the aforementioned Sun, Sound and Entertainment, as well as the Luxury and V8 Power Play packages, can add nearly $7,000 to the base sticker, pushing the total price to more than $41,000.

Some options are worthwhile, including the OnStar Emergency System (with one year of free service) and leather-appointed seats. Other options – cruise control, leather-wrapped steering wheel and steering wheel audio controls – are standard for other manufacturers SUVs.

A Preferred Equipment Savings reduction of $3,150 lowers the top- of-the line Blazers price, after a $685 destination charge, to $38,515.

As such, the Blazer isnt the most expensive or most economical SUV on the market. But certainly, for nearly $40,000, good brakes and sufficient second-row headroom shouldnt be issues.

2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Safety features — Dual-stage driver and front passenger airbags. Antilock brakes.

Fuel Mileage (estimates) — 14 mpg (city), 19 mpg (highway).

Warranty — Bumper to bumper, 3 years/36,000 miles; Power train, 3 years/36,000 miles; Corrosion, 6 years/100,000 miles; 24-hour free roadside assistance, 3 years, 36,000 miles

Base price — $34,270.00

About the Author:
James Raia is a Sacramento, Calif., journalist who writes about sports, travel and lifestyle topics as well as the automotive column, The Weekly Driver Review.

Car Maintenance Top 10 Rules

Top 10 Rules of High Mileage Cars

(ARA) – Americans are keeping their vehicles longer and driving farther than ever before. Today, the average age of vehicles on the road is greater than nine years and more than 68 percent of vehicles have more than 75,000 miles.

As a vehicles engine ages, its performance decreases and oil starts to break down at a faster rate. Over time, seals begin to deteriorate, gaskets become brittle and oil consumption increases — all leading to a reduction in engine performance.

Treating your high-mileage vehicle with a little TLC and consistently following the 10 rules for high-mileage vehicle maintenance will help ensure it will go the distance. Using premium motor oil specially formulated for higher-mileage cars — such as Castrol GTX High Mileage Formulation — will also help a higher-mileage car feel young again.

Rule #1 — Make sure you change your oil every three months or 3,000 miles — whichever comes first. No exceptions. Think of your engine as the heart of your car and motor oil as the lifeblood of the engine. One cant function without the other, so stay on top of your oil-change schedule.

Rule #2 – Find a good mechanic. If you dont do your own maintenance, find a shop staffed by ASE-certified mechanics (thats the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence). A good mechanic will listen to your questions and explain procedures clearly.

Rule #3 – Have your tire pressure checked at least once a month. Its the best way to prevent unexpected flats. A service station attendant can quickly and easily perform the check. Also make sure to rotate your tires and check their alignment as part of a regular tune-up (or with every other oil change).

Rule #4 – Pay attention to warning signs. Of course, not every little thump or ping you hear spells disaster. Cars, like people, have their peculiarities, and you are sure to quickly learn what is normal for yours. With a high-mileage vehicle, however, its best to check out any symptom — be it a sound, smell or feeling — that seems the slightest bit abnormal. Remember: an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Rule #5 – Pay attention to outward signs. If your car is leaking fluids, it can mean serious trouble. Keep an eye on the conditions of your driveway or regular parking space for stains or spots that can warn you of possible leaks. Castrols GTX High Mileage Formulation motor oil contains special conditioners that help protect and maintain seals, thereby helping to reduce leakage — a common problem in older, higher-mileage engines.

Rule #6 – Schedule regular tune-ups. Even if your high-mileage car seems fine, thats no guarantee it is. Use tune-ups to ensure your cars major components are running smoothly and that they stay that way. Your oil should be changed, tires checked and rotated if necessary, belts checked and replaced, brake lines inspected, spark plugs and air filter checked and replaced, and fuel injector checked. A good way to top off a tune-up is an overall analysis of your cars engine, and undercar, safety and computer systems.

Rule #7 — Prepare your car for the seasons. If you live in a sunny climate all year round, you can skip this step. For the rest of us, visit the Ask the Expert feature at www.castrolusa.com for a checklist of seasonal maintenance practices for your high-mileage vehicle. Preparing your high-mileage car to defend against the elements will lessen its chances of needing repairs and save you money in the long run.

Rule #8 — Check your fluids regularly. Its dangerous for your high-mileage car to get dehydrated, so be sure to keep an eye on its vital fluids. Simply lift the hood and perform a quick visual check. Use the dipstick to check the oil level; a quick glance at the coolant reservoir will let you know if you need more cooling fluid.

Rule #9 — Store it properly. Storing your vehicle in a dry, temperate location when it is not in use will prevent disastrous wear and tear on both its interior and exterior. Garage your car whenever possible to protect its looks.

Rule #10 – Stay on top of safety features. Nothing is more important than your cars ability to protect both you and your passengers. Air bags, antilock breaks and any other additional safety features that you may have added to your car should be carefully checked on a regular basis (when your car has a tune-up) to ensure that in the event of an accident, they will perform their vital, lifesaving functions.
Ads on Wheels: Vehicle Wrapping As a Marketing Tool
by Nir Landau V.P

We live in fast times. People often become so busy trying to keep pace with work that stopping to look around is a luxury. This is much to the chagrin of marketers who spend thousands to get their products noticed. With the changes in the way the typical consumer operates, there is no doubt that traditional advertising methods will slowly become a thing of the past in a few years. In comes vehicle wrapping. Because people are almost always mobile, advertisers have come up with a novel way of getting their messages across — that is, by literally keeping up with rush hour speeds. Vehicle wrapping is a method that moulds self-adhesive vinyl into the bodywork of any vehicle to make it appear like it was simply painted on. The wrap can contain all kinds of prints, from the owners favorite cartoon character, or, if hes that vain, a blow-up photo of himself. Most importantly, it can carry advertisements. The best thing about vehicle wrap advertisements is that they move with the consumer. Imagine getting stuck in traffic and not seeing anything else but the annoying bumper sticker on the car in front of you. A van wrapped with colorful graphics will be a welcome sight. If your company information were part of the body that made up this interesting design, you can rest assured that your logo will be on peoples minds until they reach home. When a vehicle is transformed into a mobile billboard, traffic will become less of a headache for everyone. Vehicle wrap advertisements benefit both the consumer and the vehicle owner. Potential buyers are afforded more information about a particular product while on the road, while car owners get to profit from agreeing to carry the ad. Right now, the largest vehicle wrapping companies are 3M, Arlon, and Avery Dennison. The average price of a full vehicle wrap is $3000. It sounds costly at first, but when you factor in the number of people who will get a glimpse of your product, as opposed to handing out flyers or installing posters, the expense is just pennies.
About the Author

Nir Landau V.P sales Next Generation Media
WebSite:
<A onclick=window.location.href=http://www.nextgellc.com/; return false; href=#>Next Generation Media

Email: marketing@nextgellc.com

How To Choose A Car Transport Company
By: Thomas Morva

Whether youre shipping an expensive exotic car, a classic, an antique or a standard family car you can always count on successfully locating an excellent car transport company with an auto carrier package designed to fit your needs and budget.

There are several different types of car transport companies that cover a wide range of services including overseas shipping and international transport, transport of custom built automobiles, luxury cars, antique autos, exotic cars, and the familiar sedan. Car transport companies are usually listed under the following titles: car transport, vehicle shipping, and auto transport. When hiring a car transport company you have to consider some issues specific to vehicle transport, unlike your other possessions cars have some precise requirements like additional car insurance and vehicle inspection reports.

Be confident that the car transport company adequately insures your car. When investigating car transport companies you will want to find out the total cost first. Be prepared to provide the following information: origination/destination, departure date, and type of car. You will also want to consider what kind of car transport service you want. There are several options available with a wide variety of prices; for example door-to-door car transport, terminal-to-terminal, enclosed car transport, car carrier transport and rail service.

Some car transport companies may require payment in advance, while others will require a deposit. Ask for a contract clause that waives the cancellation fee if your car is not picked up by your auto shipping company within the time frame that you agree upon. If you terminate your contract within the allotted time period, expect to pay some fee. Occasionally it is difficult for a car transport company to certify a delivery date, however some car transport companies will offer a guarantee that covers a rental car if they cannot make the agreed delivery, find out the cost and the maximum dollars per day covered.

The car transport company should warn you of possible delays ahead of time. If you need an exact date for pick-up, most vehicle transport services can pick-up your car and hold it at a secure location for an additional charge.

Car transport companies use various methods to move your car long distances, such as flatbed truck, car carrier, enclosed trailer and other more customized options, like single enclosed trailer or two-car non-stacking enclosed trailers.

When you leave your car with a car transport company, be sure you receive an inspection report, this document supplies receiving and delivery information, current mileage, and details the condition of your car. Make sure to get everything in writing.

Remember its not the size of a company or how many trucks they have that makes them successful; it is the skill of the employees behind the equipment and their commitment to customer service. A great car transport company will have a group of trained professionals who will come to you with experience and unique knowledge of the inner workings of the auto transport business. Just knowing the basic facts about car transport will make finding the right company a guaranteed success.

About the Author:
Car Transport provides detailed information about car transport services and trailers, as well as advice on locating an cheap, domestic and international car transport company for your standard, classic, or exotic car.
