Ferrari 360 Coupé

The 360 is touted as one of Ferrari's best cars for everyday use and because it is easier and cheaper to service compared to the previous models, this car is affordable to those with alot of dough to spare. The designers have been generous with the amount of aluminium used on the body and the chassis. The optional F1 gearbox makes it easier to use the paddles behind the steering wheel and this gearbox is for those who favour lightweight driving and a more defined amount of performance.

The car is well equipped with its 3.6-litre V8 engine with a 400bhp gallop and it can go up to 8000rpm. The six speed manual is better suited for those already at ease with such conditions as the F1 gearbox may prove difficult to handle for new users. The car's handling is almost flawless as it was designed to carry itself well on the road as well as the track. The steering is responsive and there are the no problems with its power assistance. However, going fast also means braking fast and the brake pads wear off every 20,000 kms and are then necessary to change frequently. Long trips are also surprisingly comfortable in the 360.

The standard leather seats and air-conditioning are normal for supercar standards. There is plenty of room in the car for your body and the standard spec car is not noisy at a normal speed but once you rev up the engine to go, the high pitched yowling normally associate with supercars screams into the wind.

There's a small luggage compartment in the nose of the car and a few more storage compartments behind the glovebox. The comfortable cabin makes it easy for the driver and passenger to get in and out. The standard supercar interior is included in the 360 which comprises of the leather seats, ESP, air conditioning and a CD stereo. The F1 gearbox can be added for the speed junkies for an additional cost. For the CS editions, racing harnesses were also thrown in as an option.

The 360 gives the driver a good driving position and there is no sign of the old-style straight arms which makes the car accommodating to all drivers. The interior is luxurious and classy which spells the prestige brand of Ferrari. There isn't much restriction for rear view mirrors besides the normal supercar rear pillars problem.

This racing machine is pivotal for Ferrari as it is the safest car made under their wing with ESP traction control and it's excellent performance in homegrown crash tests. There are driver and passenger airbags to the 360 to ensure safety for both users.

Because of the 360's weakness for draining oil from the engine's complex and the rather pricey valve gear, the car needs to be driven regularly to make sure it is in top shape for the road. Regular servicing and changing of brake pads should ensure that the 360 is ready for the roads around your area.
