Ford Focus Hatchback

The Ford Focus Hatchback was not expected to be a better car than the original Focus but this car has gone above and beyond expectations. There's more space in the car, better quality feel, stylish and a reliable drive. For those who are environmentally conscious, this car comes in an eco-friendly ECOnetic model as well.

There are various choices in the petrol engine and the diesel engines. For petrol, the options come in from 1.4 to 2.0-litres. They've made it an even wider option with the branching out of 100bhp and 115bhp for the 1.6-litre engine. It comes with the new variable camshaft timing system that helps improve the torque and fuel consumption. The diesel engines go from 1.6 litres to 1.8-litres and a 2.0 litre. Thus far, the 1.6-litre with 110bhp has proved to be a favourite amongst drivers. All engines, except the 2.0, uses a five speed gearbox. The Focus has superb handling and is a delight to drive. It boasts a more sophisticated suspension compared to their rivals. The car is a solid drive on turns and the steering's capabilities do not disappoint.

Ford Focus Hatchback

The car has been supersized and is very comfortable. There is ample leg space in the front and rear rows. It is a very relaxed drive and the noise is cut down to a minimum. There is a large sized boot and the rear seats can be split into the typical 60:40 style. The latest in car technology, the Easyfuel, has been added into this model that helps prevent from diesel entered into petrol cars and vice versa. This feature is not available in other cars this large so it is an additional plus for those opting to buy this car. There are little storage compartments located around the front and the rear seats of the car.

The Focus comes with 5 different trim levels which are Studio, LX, Zetec, Ghia and Titanium. Each trim level comes with its own features but all are equipped with the standard front electric windows and mirrors. LX has air conditioning, Ghia includes climate control, cruise control and automatic wipes. The Zetec is suited for those with a sportier edge as it comes with sporty looks and an uprated suspension. Titanium does not have cruise control but it does have partial leather and sport seats. Users are still able to add more options to their cars like satellite navigation and the like.

Safety wise all the models except for the Studio model, comes with six airbags and they have passed the EURO NCAP crash tests with top scores. The standard electronic stability programme and other optional safety features are avaliable for all models. It is also comforting to note that thus far, there have been no major problems with the model ever since its debut in 2005 and has been praised as one of the most reliable cars on the market.

In short, if you are in need of a reliable and a good performance car, the latest Ford Focus Hatchback is indeed the car for you.
