Ford Focus XR5 Turbo Car Review

The new Ford Focus XR5 Turbo hit the market retailing at a very decent price of AUD $35,990. Though the price is low, is the new Focus worth buying? In my opinion I would definitely answer that question with a big yes. You get a lot out of this vehicle and it is almost as if it is priced to low for the quality that you are receiving. Of course, that is nothing to complain about. I am happy that they are offering such a great vehicle at a great price. Now let's get down to business and move on to all the things that make the Ford Focus XR5 Turbo worth your time.

I will start with the interior of the new Ford Focus. With its euro styling you immediately get a feel of being in a classy and high quality vehicle. The first thing you will most likely notice is the amount of space inside. There is plenty of room for the load area and interior space to make getting in, sitting in, and getting out much more comfortable. That's not the only good thing about the interior though. There is a nice and lengthy list of equipment that comes with this car. The list of equipment is as follows; brushed aluminum highlights, leather steering wheel, Recaro front seats, XR5 Turbo scuff panels, a 6 disc Sony CD-player, and an extra instrument pod which contains boost, oil temperature, and oil pressure. The list doesn't stop there either, you also get more than enough storage pockets, six airbags, trip computer, and a supersized glove box. The only features that are not found in this vehicle that I would have liked to have seen is cruise control and climate control. Although these features would be much appreciated, all of the other features do a good job of making up for this fault. Hopefully in future models they will incorporate these missing features so the list will feel more complete and add an even bigger bang for your buck.

The exterior of the Ford Focus XR5 Turbo is excellent in appearance. Even if you go with the base and most bland model, you are still accompanied by a great looking vehicle. The front end has a very aggressive look that goes very well with the distinguished 18 inch wheels. The front of the vehicle is not the only attractive part; the rear is also quite a piece to look at as well. With its 'venture effect'; stylish rear bumper along with the large spoiler and dual exhaust outlets, this vehicle attracts attention from front to back. The only downfall of the build that I could find is the forward swept C-pillars. The C-pillars impair your rear vision a bit, but this isn't anything really worth bashing the car for.

Perhaps the best quality of the new Focus is the large engine bay that harbors a 2.5 liter five cylinder turbo engine. This engine is Volvo sourced and it offers numerous pros to owning this vehicle. With this engine you get up to the minute variable intake and exhaust timing along with an air to air intercooled KKK turbo charger. If you give this vehicle even the slightest amount of throttle movement you will find yourself riding a surprising wave of torque. You can either ride this wave all the way out or start short shifting the wonderful six speed gearbox. No matter how you look at it, this is one sweet engine to have pushing your vehicle around. Power and torque are not the only attributes of this engine worth noting however. You will also find yourself saving in the area of fuel consumption due to the engines tractability.

In conclusion, the new Ford Focus XR5 Turbo is totally worth purchasing and owning for many reasons. You get a stylish appearance with both the exterior/interior and plenty of features to go along with that. You also get an awesome 2.5 liter five cylinder engine that does a great job of not only giving you all the power you need, but also saving you a little money here and there with its fuel saving capability. Overall you are getting a vehicle with graceful performance, an excellent ride, great handling, and enough features to satisfy most drivers. All of this comes at a shockingly low price of AUD $35,990. So in my opinion you are getting a great deal owning a vehicle of this quality for a pocket friendly price, and you can't ask for much more than that.
