Holden Astra Diesel Car Review

Overview

There are two options with the Holden Astra Diesel-the automatic transmission option and the manual transmission option. The automatic option is definitely not good in comparison with the manual option. It can drive faster while not wasting fuel like the automatic. On the inside, the Holden Astra is pleasantly basic, and very similar to other European vehicles.

There are two options with the Holden Astra Diesel-the automatic transmission option and the manual transmission option. The automatic option is definitely not good in comparison with the manual option. It is extremely hard for the gears to shift once you get up to fourth gear, which can be a huge fuel-waster. To get the full effect of the economical benefits of this car, you need to go with the manual option. It can drive faster while not wasting fuel like the automatic.

Holden Astra Diesel Side

On the inside, the Holden Astra is pleasantly basic, and very similar to other European vehicles. One of the things I really like is the fact that it has controls on the steering wheel. This helps to have everything there where you need it-just like the speedometer area. This area has all of the information you need, and it is easy to view while you are driving. The only not eye-pleasing element on the inside of the Holden Astra was the information display, which just looked extremely outdated, like it was trying too hard for its time to be technological.

There are some definite downsides to driving a diesel- like the noise. That is not appealing to most people. However, there is no mistaking the fuel-efficiency of diesels, specifically the Holden-Astra Diesel.

At first glance, the Holden Astra Diesel is really nothing spectacular-not that it is a bad vehicle, it just doesn't look like anything special. One of the plus sides is that there are quite a few options that you can pick from, which like most cars, increase both price and quality. Some of the options are power windows and mirrors, cruise control, an improved sound system, Antilock Break System brakes and Brake Assist, and airbags for both driver and passenger. All in all, the Holden Astra Diesel may not be top of the line or the most desired car in the world, but it is a fuel-efficient, practical option for those that need a trustworthy vehicle for a decent price.
