Hyundai Santa Fe Diesel SUV Review

Overview

The Hyundai Santa Fe diesel breaks this tradition. The mid-range model, named the Hyundai Santa Fe Diesel SLX, will cost about $43,490. The Hyundai Santa Fe Diesel looks like your average mid-sized SUV vehicle from the outside. If you are looking for a vehicle that drives comfortably, the Santa Fe is a great choice. As I stated earlier, you can choose from the following: a five-speed manual transmission, a four-speed automatic transmission, and a five-speed automatic transmission.

Details

Most people would expect to climb into a diesel vehicle and hear that all-too-well-known diesel noise. Diesel engines are known for making noise not only when they are just idling, but when they are driving. The Hyundai Santa Fe diesel breaks this tradition. Though it still has some noise, which is unavoidable with a diesel engine, the noise is extremely minimal and does not bother the driver or any passengers.

Hyundai Santa Fe Diesel

There are different levels of this vehicle that the buyer can choose from, each one being a little more expensive than the other and with more features. The top of the line model, which is the most expensive, is the Hyundai Santa Fe Diesel Elite. This model, which will run you about $46,990, comes equipped with five seats and a five-speed automatic transmission. The mid-range model, named the Hyundai Santa Fe Diesel SLX, will cost about $43,490. This model comes with seven seats and either a five speed manual or automatic transmission. Lastly, the most affordable of the series-the Hyundai Santa Fe Diesel SX, which has a pricetag of about $36,990. Similar to the SLX, this model will give you the choice between the five speed manual or automatic transmission, but will only give you five seats instead of seven, like the SLX. Another thing that changes with the model chosen is the interior. Obviously, if you are paying top dollar for the vehicle, you are going to be getting more features in the interior.

The Hyundai Santa Fe Diesel looks like your average mid-sized SUV vehicle from the outside. With an appealing exterior, it is an attractive vehicle to drive.

If you are looking for a vehicle that drives comfortably, the Santa Fe is a great choice. While it is meant for on-road driving, it also can compete with others in its class to drive off-road as well. Like many Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs), there is a tendency for the vehicle to be a little top heavy, which requires a little more careful handling when taking turns than it would in a car that has a low center of gravity.

The interior of the vehicle is also very pleasing. No matter if you choose to have five seats or seven seats, passengers riding in this vehicle will have more than enough space to be comfortable. If you do choose the seven seat option, your passengers in the very back will have the option to operate their own temperature controls. Though one would think that equipping the additional seats would be difficult, it is actually quite easy to do.

Under the hood you will find a 2.2Ltr, 4 cylinder engine. There are different choices for the transmission. As I stated earlier, you can choose from the following: a five-speed manual transmission, a four-speed automatic transmission, and a five-speed automatic transmission. If you're looking to take a road trip, you've picked a great vehicle. With the manual transmission, you can look to have a fuel efficiency of an average 7.3L/100KM. With the automatic transmissions, fuel efficiency will be at approximately 8.1-8.2L/100KM.

The Hyundai Santa Fe Diesel definitely held up to the reputation that it had to be fuel efficient, full of wonderful features, and easy to use. No matter what model might suit your preference, you will be getting a great purchase for your money. With all of these benefits combined with the impressive 5 year/130,000KM warranty, the Hyundai Santa Fe Diesel is a great buy!
