Hyundai Terracan Highlander CRDi 4WD Review

Overview

If off-roading is your thing, this is most definitely a vehicle that would suit you. The basic features come complete with wood grain, leather seats, climate control, cruise control, airbags for both the driver and passenger sides, a 6 speaker stereo system, Antilock Brake System brakes, electric windows, three power outlets, and keyless entry, which includes an alarm system. Though the Hyundai Terracan Highlander CRDi is a little more on the expensive side, it isn't bad in comparison with other vehicles of its type.

Details

For me, the outside appearance of the Hyundai Terracan Highlander CRDi looks like one of those vehicles that tend to just blend in with each other, and I would never really be able to distinguish it from another vehicle that is similar. For the type of vehicle that it is, it gets impressive fuel efficiency with an average of 10L/100KM. It handles just fine in traffic, although it can sometimes get a little difficult if you take hard turns. It is quite ideal for highway driving, with both limited noise and a smooth ride.

Hyundai Terracan 4WD front

One of the only down-sides of this vehicle, which is minor if you are accustomed to driving a large vehicle, is that it can be a bear to park-particularly in reverse. Just take your time and try your best-and if you are used to parking these types of vehicles, you are at an advantage here.

If off-roading is your thing, this is most definitely a vehicle that would suit you. If you opt to get the Trek'n'Tow package, you are in for a treat. This package includes cold wound coil springs, shock absorbers, and the Inertia Active System. Add to that the fact that the Trek'n'Tow was actually tested with the Terracan in mind, and it's worth the $2000 if you want to tow or go offroad with your vehicle.

The Highlander CRDi, which is the top of the line option in the Terracan series, has a 4 cylinder engine and a 2.9l Turbo Diesel motor. Sure, we aren't talking about a car that will win you any races, but the engine definitely lets itself be known when you start up the car. Just be careful when you take those in-town curves, as the center of gravity is big on this vehicle and sometimes it gets a little top heavy.

The interior of the car is definitely pleasing-it has all of the normal qualities that come in a luxury car. The basic features come complete with wood grain, leather seats, climate control, cruise control, airbags for both the driver and passenger sides, a 6 speaker stereo system, Antilock Brake System brakes, electric windows, three power outlets, and keyless entry, which includes an alarm system. All of the gadgets in the vehicle are very user-friendly and within reach for both the passenger and the driver.

Though the Hyundai Terracan Highlander CRDi is a little more on the expensive side, it isn't bad in comparison with other vehicles of its type. Though it is not as visually appealing as the other competitors in its area, it comes with quite a bit of options, which makes it more worth the price.
