If you are planning on taking people on a long road trip, this might not be the option for you unless it is with front seat passengers only. While front seat passengers have adequate space for the long ride, there is not much room for the back seat passengers to stretch their legs, which can get a bit tiring after a while. However, if you are going to be transporting children in the back seat of the car, there is plenty of space, as long as they are not older, bigger children.

Upon sitting down inside the Mini Cooper S Chilli with the John Cooper Works kit (JCW), it is obvious that it is almost like a time warp, just like the Volkswagen Beetle is. Also similar to the Volkswagen Beetle is the speedometer and tachometer area, which are just simply circles instead of sleekly designed styles that you are accustomed to seeing in most cars nowadays. The interior is very well organized and all gadgets and controls are well positioned. The steering wheel is very comfortable to hold in your hands, which makes steering feel in control and easy! The steering wheel is not the only thing that is comfortable about the interior of the Mini Cooper-the car actually has heated leather sports seats that really hug you into place, much like the Evolution IX that I also reviewed. In addition to the speedometer and tachometer area being primarily circular controls, the temperature, fuel, and pressure area is also predominantly circular. This may not be the most space conscious idea, but it does add to the nostalgic overall feel of the interior, which makes the lack of space well worth it. The temperature system is controlled by climate control. One of the things that sets the Mini Cooper apart from the rest are the types of controls that are in the vehicle. Just about everything is controlled by switches, which is not something you see in many other vehicles, so it is fun to use! The sound system in the vehicle is very impressive. It is a harman/kardon system with eight speakers, but unfortunately it only comes with a single disc CD-player, which is unimpressive when held up next to the harman/kardon system. Even if you do not opt for the upgrade, you can still get standard features such as leather seats, electric locks, windows, and mirrors, and cruise control. There are also plenty of safety features available, such as Anti Lock Brake system brakes and multiple airbags, to name a couple.

Originally produced by the British Motor Corporation from 1959 until 2000, the Mini Cooper is now manufactured by BMW. I have always wondered what it would be like to drive on of these cars. Like a Volkswagen Beetle, these cars just seem like a step back in time for me. There just seems to be so much history behind them. And there is-just driving one around will often earn you glances from people who used to own a Mini Cooper when they were younger, especially since the car has been around for such a long time. You will perhaps also get conversations with those who are curious about how the Mini Cooper drives and rides-many are curious because they are interested in purchasing a Mini Cooper of their own. Aside from the historical aspect and nostalgic effects that it has on some people, the Mini Cooper S Chilli is actually a quite aesthetically pleasing vehicle. There are just not any other cars that have a design that is even closely similar to the Mini Cooper, and though it has nostalgic value, it is definitely not outdated. With Xenon headlights, back and front fog lights, 17 inch wheels and a chrome grille, the Mini Cooper holds its own with the newest cars out there. At a starting price of $42,500, the Mini Cooper is definitely within an affordable price range. If you decide to add on the John Cooper Works kit, which will be discussed in detail later in this article, it will bump the price up to $51,300. There are many noticeable benefits of having this particular addition to the car.

The car has a surprisingly good handling ability. With the 1.6 Liter 4 cylinder engine, the power is perfectly suitable for its size. If you are looking for a car with get up and go, the Mini Cooper definitely has it-averaging 0 to 100 in 6 seconds. It goes around curves quite well and is easy for the driver to control without oversteering. It is quite similar to the steering capabilities of the Mitsubishi Evolution IX. Shifting in this vehicle is smooth and fast, and the pedal is just touchy enough to make driving optimal. It is obvious that it is meant to be a tight driving vehicle, and it lives up to that. It doesn't have hardly any body roll and grips the road extremely well. Going around the corners is a fun time, especially since the supercharger makes exiting them such a breeze! The car is a smoother ride on a drive that is not in the city limits, but can be perfectly adequate if you use it in the city. It just might not be the most comfortable ride you can find for every day, in city use. The brakes begin being completely adequate, but if you use them in intense driving for a long period of time, there is a great chance that the brakes will begin to lessen in ability, even with the John Cooper Works kit option. The Dynamic Stability Control, which is meant to be helpful for safety reasons, actually turns out being quite a pain. Its best to switch it off unless you want it to kick in when you least need it.

In conclusion, the Mini Cooper has many positive factors that set it apart from other cars. Not only does it have an outer appearance that attracts attention and is different from almost anything you will pass on the road, but it drives like a charm on multiple types of roads. Whether you need a car that can speed down a straight stretch or hug curves, the Mini Cooper S Chilli JCW will serve its purpose. The controls on the inside are unique, fun and very easy to use once you have learned your way around them. If you have the money to finance the price tag for a vehicle of this type, the Mini Cooper has more than just the car benefits. Buying a Mini Cooper in Australia will automatically make you a part of the Australia Mini Club, which organizes activities and events for owners of Mini vehicles. Even if you decide to rule the car out because you want an option that is more practical, the Mini Cooper still deserves recognition. This car would not be best for families that need room to transport multiple passengers and belongings, but for a first vehicle or for a single person that does not often drive around carloads of friends, this is a perfect option. Take it for a test drive-the choice is up to you.
