Volkswagen Polo GTI Car Review Overview There are not many significant differences in the Polo GTI from the other Polo cars. Driving on straight stretches will be more pleasant than driving around curvy areas. If you are looking for a car with an abundance of trunk space and plenty of room for a car full of people, this is not the car for you. However, if you are looking for a car that is fuel efficient, easy to drive on long or short drives, and equipped with good features, definitely stop to take a look at the Volkswagen Polo GTI. Details Once you turn the key and start the engine you will notice that it’s definitely not shy. The 1.8 Ltr, 4 cylinder engine roars when revving and makes more noise than you would probably expect. The get up and go of the vehicle is also pretty impressive, just don’t forget to de-activate the ESP before you try to accelerate quickly-otherwise you will end up spinning wheels at the starting line. You can go from 0-100KM in anywhere from 7.5 to 8.2 seconds. This, of course, will eat up gas quickly. The car is equipped with the Electronic Stability Program, and it works like a charm. I really don’t know why all cars do not have this particular feature-it’s a feature that definitely draws my attention.
Going on a road trip would be quite enjoyable because of the excellent fuel efficiency of an average 7.9L/100KM. However, if you push the car’s limits, you are going to very drastically increase this number. In addition to the fuel efficiency, road trips would be nice because of the fairly comfortable ride. Driving on straight stretches will be more pleasant than driving around curvy areas. However, there isn’t much room in the trunk for luggage, and if you are taking multiple passengers, the back seat passengers will most likely complain about lack of leg room. The shifting of gears is smooth and easy to manipulate, making it a user-friendly drive. However, on long drives that require driving at fast speeds, it would be nice if the car had a sixth gear. Even without the sixth gear, however, the car is still fun to drive in any setting. The Polo GTI is a two door vehicle, which wouldn’t be a bad thing if they weren’t so heavy. If you are on a steep incline or decline it could be difficult to open and close the doors. Aside from that small issue, once you are in the car you will be very pleased with what you get. The seats are extremely comfortable and wrap around you to help you stay nice and snug in the car. You can go for the optional leather seats, which adds an additional $2,490 to the price, or you can stick with the basic setup. The basic seats come with a cloth trim which adds a great texture to them. In my opinion it’s better to stick with the basic since the addition to the price tag doesn’t really seem worth it for the leather seats. There are not many significant differences in the Polo GTI from the other Polo cars. The Volkswagen Polo GTI isn’t the most attractive looking car, but don’t let the looks deceive you. The Polo GTI doesn’t look very much different from the Polo TDI, which of course was a disappointment. Once you are inside the car though, and begin driving it, you will see that the performance standards definitely exceed those of the appearance. Despite some of the downfalls that this vehicle might have in the looks and suspension departments, it is a great car to buy for a fantastic price. Though it might not be appropriate for someone that needs a vehicle with space, it would perfectly suit someone for a first car. It surpasses many of the competitors in the same class, and deserves the consideration! |
